A bunny's deceased friend returns in a dream to help her cope with her loss.
After the loss of my best friend, I could feel myself sinking into a sadness that felt overwhelming. I found solace in creativity. For my graduate capstone, I decided to make a multimedia short film that was inspired by my lifelong friendship with Ally. While it was difficult to work on, it was also therapeutic. I continued working on the film after I graduated, and this is the final product. I hope it can reach someone who may be struggling and can give them some inspiration to use their creativity to help get them through a time that may seem unsurpassable. I also hope this small piece of art will keep my beautiful friend’s memory alive.
After deciding I wanted to make this movie, I wanted to challenge myself artistically. I have always been fascinated by stop motion and am an avid needle felter. I knew I could use these two skills to create a unique style to my film. The base of most needle felt projects is wire. This served as the perfect foundation for my puppets. This skill, coupled with the skills I attained at the Harvard Extension School, gave me the tools allowed me to create a project that honors my friend as well as gives a stage for the skills I have cultivated.
